TOMS Wedges Keep Going and Going......

I know I harp on and on about TOMS shoes, but what can I say? I am a super, crazy passionate shoe lover and I will always love and support TOMS shoes! I just received an email this afternoon while giving Natalie the ever famous "Kim Kardashian waves" from TOMS shoes. They are releasing new wedges in even more unique colors and canvas soles!  I am definitely in a crunch on whether to buy another pair of TOMS wedges or the brown, suede, Minnetonka moccasins that I was recently introduced to by one of my clients on Zappos. What's a girl to do? I know, I will buy both!

Over Hair Over There

As you all remember, my nieces were down visiting myself and Hubs last week which was an experience, but we had a good time! Well, I found my youngest niece, Abby and her friend, Katie going through all of my photos over the past few years. They were talking, giggling, and whispering (Yes, 13-year olds whisper ALOT) about how my hair is so different all the time! Thus I decided to share several of my personal hair adventures over the years. Feel free to comment, believe me, I have heard it all!
This is me as a blonde with a short crop cut
I was in between deciding to be a brunette or blonde
I decided on brunette and growing it out
Of course always back to blonde and a blunt bob
After beauty school started I decided to do huge blonde and red chunks, still one of my favorites! This is really long for me.
I decided to try red all over, but still left it long.
I couldn't take it anymore, so I chopped it!
And then I missed it so I got some extensions!
Then I straightened my extensions!
Tried going back brunette but I had to have a streak because I get so bored.
I pretty much look like this now. I have been growing it for a year now, hopefully one more year to go!

COACH - Men's Edition NYC

I never understand why the men have to wait longer for the fine things in life. Yes we got the IPad and yes the A-Team remake was awesome (Ms. Lipstick especially enjoyed Bradley Cooper's ab exercises while I thought Ms. Timberlake, errr Jessica Biel's performance solidified her as one of Hollywood's leading ladies), but come on ladies... share the fine leather goods. Coach has now opened the doors of its first, men's only store on Bleeker Street in the Big Apple. Now I can carry great leather wallets, sophisticated keychains, and even totes like you. Please note that I have not found any appropriate situation for which to carry a tote. Much like the man "don't call it a purse it is a satchel from The Hangover", it is best avoided. Especially for those of us who aspire to be or just hang out with the Most Interesting Man in the World.
So if you are running through the Big Apple anytime soon, a Coach money piece would be a great gift. Until next time...

Head Over Heels

This weekend I went down to pick up my nieces and bring them back to Houston for a week of fun in the sun, tons of eating, and anything else that teenagers like to do! (Oh yeah, they have taken about 500 pictures in Photo Booth so far) Well, yesterday afternoon I found my youngest niece Abby and her friend Katie in my closet trying on all of my stilettos! I was so proud of them that I decided to take a few shots to share with you ladies! ENJOY!!

You can guess Abby is MY NEICE (she looks like me ha!)

Hair Routine for that Rockin' Mane

I have done an EXTENSIVE amount of research on all kinds of hair products from store bought to salon professional products.  As a hairstylist, I am a huge promoter of using salon professional products to take care of your hair because I know first hand what a difference professional products will make in your hair world.  I also highly recommend professional products if you are a lady who gets color work done.  Color is an investment you are making into your appearance and why spend all the money just to have it fade away in a week or two!??
I am going to share with you my current hair routine. Everyone's hair color and needs require different products, but these products I swear by.  Like I said I have spent a lot of time and money searching for the best solution for my hair care needs so I am excited to share with you all my current findings!
I use Logics 02 Shampoo and Conditioner every other day. (Please don't shampoo everyday if you can help it!)  Before I blow dry I use Pravana Intense Hydrating Leave-In Conditioner - love this stuff and for some volume and bounce I use Goldwell Glamour whip.  These 4 products are my staples in my hair care regimen.

Proud Mary

I was so excited when Natalie's Aunt Mary called me up to do her hair because she saw how beautiful and luxurious Natalie's hair is.  I met with Mary beforehand to discuss where her hair was at the time and where we were going.  She loves the length on her hair but she wanted a bunch of layers so that she could have big, sexy hair!  She wanted to stay blonde but add a little more depth to the current color she had and of course cover all of her gray!

MARY BEFORE:

So after much contemplation and more thought after that, I decided what our plan of action would be!  I was going to keep Mary's base color close to what it already was but cover 100% of gray on her root area.  After this, I put a caramel highlight in and a darker golden brown to break up the color.  We let this  all sit and after rinsing, I toned it all over with a super light honey blonde.

After our color processing was done, I cut Mary's hair to get the dead ends off and then cut tons of layers throughout her hair especially in the back.  I also added some face-framing layers and we swooped her bangs across her forehead to soften her look.  I finished with a round brush and a final spritz!

Smoke Out

HERE ARE THE TOOLS THAT I USE:

ON YOUR WAY TO THE SMOKIES:

1. After priming (always prime!!) with Urban Decay Eye Potion in Sin, cover lid and crease with a shimmery silver color - I like MAC Electra.

2. Take a brush and dip into a dark charcoal gray like Urban Decay Zero (tap brush to get off excess powder), and run back in forth from inner crease to outer crease.  I give it about 3-4 coats of shadow depending on how dramatic you are wanting to go.

3. Always highlight with a shimmery white or bone color shadow (I always use Urban Decay Sellout). I dip my pinky finger into my shadow and put it in the inner corners of my eyes and right below my brow bone.

4. Line inner rims (yes top and bottom, trust me) with BLACK charcoal eyeliner.  I use Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eyeliner in Stingray.

5.  Go over charcoal liner on top with a black liquid liner to keep liner in place all day and night (My fav is Stila Stay All Day Liquid Eyeliner in Black). This is also where you can flick your liquid liner out and up from your outer corner to get your cat-eye effect.  I don't advise this for you newbies because it can get very dramatic looking!

6. Finish with 3, yes 3! coats of black volumizing mascara (I like good old Loreal Voluminous Original in Blackest Black).

7. You are ready to hit the town ladies! Oh yeah, and don't forget your lipstick of course (I recommend a soft neutral shade such as Mac Myth since we want to let the eyes do the talking)!
