5 for Friday: 5 Different Ways to Wear Arm Warmers

I am not sure if you guys have all noticed, but I have decided to try to take a somewhat organized approach to my blog posts.  I would like to think I am an organized person, but I am sure my husband would beg to differ. I am a creative person and a very proud free spirit so I do tend to get a little off task at times, but I promise it is always for a good cause! (right, Shan?)
Anyways, I have decided that Fridays would be devoted to one article of clothing and 5 different ways to wear it.  This week, arm warmers! These particular arm warmers I bought while I was in London at H&M.  I know I know, some of you hate them, but some of you love them right?  Well, I have always cherished my toasty, fuzzy arm warmers.  Even though I don't get the chance to wear them very often because I live in the sweltering city of Houston, I still love them nonetheless.
Here are my 5 different takes on these little babies!

1. I love how they look with this plaid shirt. Somehow it just blends in perfectly with the reds and blues.  I kept everything else neutral black, and who could resist these thigh high socks?  I love these things!
(Hollister top, Express mini, Steve Madden socks, Nine West shoes, Free People Necklace)

2. I wanted to pair them with this drapey Aerosmith top that I randomly picked up as I was literally running through Forever 21 the other day.  I thought it would definitely fit with the rocker/late 80s look I had going on here.
(F21 top, J.Crew tank, Uniqlo skinnies, Nine West shoes, Tarnish fedora)

3. This is my innocent, flowery dress look. Hence, the curtsy pose.
(F21 dress, BCBG blouse, F21 tights, Jones New York booties)

4. I like the arm warmers with a simple tank and of course my Uniqlo skinnies.  I might just write a book on these Uniqlo skinnies. I added the necklace for some spunk.
(J.Crew tank, Uniqlo skinnies, Steve Madden sandals, Express necklace)

5. Here is my ode to J. Crew look.  Have you checked out their catalogs lately?  Me and my cousin literally look through them over and over when she comes into town.  I love pairing the arm warmers with this army jacket which I also did HERE when I paired them with my wedding dress!
(Banana Republic blouse, Old Navy Jacket, J.Crew shorts and socks, Steve Madden boots)

So, what do you guys think about 5 on it Fridays!?? Is there one piece of clothing you would like to see 5 different ways? Let me know, and it's a done deal!

These are the cutest ideas! I never wear arms warmers but now I kind of want to! I've finally reached that point in life where I'd rather wear a coat, hat and scarves than go without and I think arm warmers would be a good addition to that!

I LOVE that first outfit. TO DIE FOR!! Right down my ally. And can you believe it, I have never heard of these "arm warmers!" Perhaps that's why I don't run a fashion blog. ;)

Btw, I love your new blog header!! :) You look HOT! ;)

I love you. All of these are great. The only one I wouldn't personally wear is number two, but they, that's totally okay! I don't even have arm warmers. I think I need them now.

Btw, did you check out my "Guest Post Group?" I'm not trying to shamelessly promote it or try to sell it to you, but I think posts like these would be great for guest posts, if you're interested! The link is http://2eyesinthemirror.blogspot.com/2010/11/introducing-guest-post-group.html

Have a great weekend, girl!

Omg arm warmers are the bomb!!! Some people think they're too 80's or retro or something, but seriously, they keep your arms warm and they're also totally hip. I especially like the J Crew look, layered under that blazer they look awesome! haha the J. Crew catalog is so cool :)

This is so fun! I love arm warmers and have wanted a pair for ages now. I like looks 3 and 5 the best because I love dresses and J. Crew. And they do have the best catalogs!

I'd love to see 5 ways to style a blazer. . . because I want one but really don't know what I'd wear it with.

hearts and hugs,
Nina

i have a pair in black and I wear them mostly with a leopard print coat I have with 3 quarter length sleeves. I live in a very cold country so I really use them for the practical and warm side, and they look very nice with dresses! I guess it depends on the quality or type of warmers and how they go with the rest of the look.
Great post, by the way
