Tea Time with my London Lovelies!

I know I mostly always do posts on fashion, but I really wanted to share this with my lovely London friends! As I'm sure you remember, last month I went to London with my husband for work and ever since I cannot stop talking about it. I know I know, I can't believe that I waited until I was 30 to actually cross the pond! What?? Yes, that IS crazy.  Anyways, when I was there I "took tea" every afternoon while my husband was at work.  I absolutely loved it! I would go to the nearest cafe, sit outside, order tea and a croissant and watch all the wonderful passerbys.  I thought I would never want to leave. Maybe it's because you are in a different place and everything is "SO COOL!" All I know is, I wanted to keep taking tea after we got back 3 weeks ago. So, I stopped by Target today, picked up my very first little, black tea kettle and a bag of mini bagels(I was going to buy croissants but they were 300 calories and I am trying to be good), came home and had tea at tea time! I vow that I am going to do this everyday that I am actually home around this time because it is the perfect time out before the start of an evening!

Here is my first Tea Kettle!!

My dogs went nuts when it started steaming! (I should have taken a picture)

I let the tea steep for a few minutes in my favorite mug ever!! One of my good friends gave it to me when I graduated from Cosmetology school, she rocks!

My perfect afternoon snack, YUM!

London Trip Part Deux

I wanted to post one more time while we were in London, but between the jet lag, Hubs working, and my shopping, I just couldn't get all of our pictures downloaded and onto this blog! We are home now, but still jet lagging quite a bit and trying to get back into the swing of Texas life.  I got the rest of our pictures uploaded, and I can't wait to share them with all of you.

On Monday, Hubs had to go to meetings and such, so I happily set off into the London shopping scene.  I made my way down to Harrod's.  Harrod's is one of the most marvelous department stores I have ever  been through.  It took me about two hours just to walk through the glitzy store, then I found myself downstairs trying to figure out where to eat.  I couldn't take a full-on body outfit shot because Hubs left early, and I slept late (of course), but it was rather cold on Monday, so I got to wear my new headband that my cousin bought me for my birthday.

We also went to Harrod's again together so that Will could get the full effect. I was in such awe and shock of this place!

After Harrod's closed, we decided to just keep walking along the streets enjoying all of our beautiful surroundings. I must say, although it was a bit chilly that day, it was a nice break from the Houston heat.

Tuesday was our day for doing all of the touristy events that we knew we needed to do while we were there. So, we visited the Tate Museum and the Tower of London.  I enjoyed both quite immensely, but I have to say the Tower of London was so breathtaking.  I couldn't wrap my head around the fact that I was looking at the spot where Anne Boleyn was actually beheaded.

Here are some of the shots that I took at the Tower of London.

My husband loved how the city mixed the historical building with the new stream-lined modern buildings

Of course I had to take a picture of the guard who was guarding the Queen's jewels

Of course I had to show you what I wore!
Uniqlo jeans, Steve Madden Boots, J.Crew button down, American Eagle hoodie, Old Navy jacket, F21 hat, LV satchel (my little sister let me borrow for the trip, thanks Autumn!)

So, I found this store on the way to Harrod's called Uniqlo, and I absolutely fell in love with their jeans.  This is so crazy, bc I NEVER and I mean NEVER find jeans that fit me! I am a true pear-shaped woman, and finding jeans to fit and the waist and in the bottom is a foreign concept to most.  I loved their jeans so much that I bought a regular pair of skinnies and a black pair of skinnies.

My new Steve Madden boots that I wore out while I was there

I am so fascinated with taking the subway. I guess because we drive from door to  door in our big cars and trucks down here in Texas.  If we ever go to the Northeast, I get so excited just to take the subway, everyone thinks I am crazy!

London London London

I have been in this magnificent city for a mere two days and already, I am in LOVE! Seriously, if you have not had the pleasure of visiting this fascinating city, you must get here just as fast as you can.  Yesterday was a little rough due to the 6 hour time change between London and Houston so we napped for a few hours during the day, then headed out for a big night on the town. We went to eat at a fabulous restaurant called The Long Acre, then hung out and met some really neat locals at a dive next to The Icebar.  (I really wanted to go to The Icebar, but they were closing down to redo the inside, boo!)  The people were incredibly friendly and extremely inviting.  They were quite interested in Texas, I must say!  I have also been blown away by the fashion here.  I have seen so many inspiring ensembles, it is quite different from the conservative Houston style, but I feel like I fit in just perfectly.  I wanted to share a few photos with you about what we have done thus far, so enjoy!

This is what I wore for our night out..

UO dress, VS moto jacket, F21 tights, Steve Madden thigh-high socks, Steven Madden boots

This city is incredible!

Now, here are my fashion musings while we were roaming about on Saturday afternoon.

I love everything single thing about these outfits. Everyone here layers and layers and layers. I just can't get enough! I am constantly looking around for more people to watch. AND you better own a pair of black tights because they wear them under everything!
